Professor of Economics & President of the Civil Society Resource Institute

Dr. Aldaba is a Professor and Former Chair of the Economics Department of the Ateneo de Manila University. He is currently Chair of the Board of Kasagana Ka Development Center, President of the Civil Society Resource Institute, and sits as a Board of Director of the East Asia Economic Association.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Engineering (1981) from the Ateneo de Manila University and obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of the Philippines (1996).

His current areas of research include: ASEAN Economic Community, Social Protection, Poverty, Migration and Services Liberalization.

Professor of Economics

Dr. Ang is a Professor of Economics at the Ateneo de Manila University. He currently sits on the Board of the Philippine Economics Society after serving as its President (2013). He is also the Former Director of Research for Culture, Education and Social Issues at the University of Santo Thomas.

Dr. Ang graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Santo Tomas. He went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the National University of Singapore (Singapore Government Scholar) and obtained his PhD in Applied Economics from Osaka University (2006, Japanese Government Scholar).

His current areas of research include: Labor and Development Economics, Competition, Privatization and Public Finance.
 

Associate Professor & Chair of the Economics Department

Dr. Dumlao is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Economics Department of the Ateneo de Manila University. He currently sits as a Board of Director of the Philippine Economics Society.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts double degree in Economics and International/Intercultural Studies from Fordham University and obtained his PhD in Economics from the same university (1992).

His current areas of research include: Macroeconomics and International Financial Economics.

 

Professor of Economics & Chief of Party for the USAID Trade-Related Assistance for Development (TRADE) Project

Dr. Habito is a Professor of Economics at the Ateneo de Manila University. He is currently the Chief of Party for the USAID Trade-Related Assistance for Development (TRADE) Project, Chairman of Brain Trust and is a Columnist for the Philippine Daily Inquirer where he authors the award-winning weekly column “No Free Lunch”. In addition, he also serves as an Independent Director for the Metrobank Card Corporation.
 
He graduated Summa cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of the Philippines-Los Baños (1975) and obtained his PhD in Economics from Harvard University (1984).
 
His current areas of research include: Economic Policy, Public Finance Sustainable Development and International Economics.

Professor of Economics & Director of the Ateneo Center for Economic Research and Development (ACERD)

Dr. Lanzona is a Professor and Former Chair of the Economics Department of the Ateneo de Manila University. He is currently the Director of the Ateneo Center for Economic Research and Development (ACERD).
 
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics (Honors) from the Ateneo de Manila University and obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of the Philippines. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Yale university (1994-1996) and was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Heildelberg (2009-2010).
 
His current areas of research include: Labor Economics, Development Economics and Econometrics.
